Care
So your Painting lasts
See also · further rules
- Ironing: only on the reverse side of the fabric, never directly on the screen print or embroidery. If needed, place a protective cotton cloth in between.
- Detergent: prefer a mild detergent, free of harsh enzymes and abrasive particles. No powder placed directly on the fabric.
- Softener: in reasonable quantities. Excess can crush the organic cotton fibre.
- First wash: alone or with similar-coloured pieces. Dyed organic cotton may slightly bleed during the first two washes.
- Drying: flat or on a hanger, in the shade. The tumble dryer, even at low temperature, is not recommended to preserve plastisol screen printing.
- Storage: folded, sheltered from direct light. Avoid prolonged exposure behind a sunny window.
The workshop
The embroidery
Every Painting passes under the needle of Bourdons et Compagnie, our Belgian embroiderer. The chest embroidery is laid thread by thread, straight into the fabric, in a finish specific to each World.
No heat-applied transfer, no patch sewn after the fact. An embroidery that lives with the fabric and patinas wash after wash, like a real workwear garment.
- Embroiderer Bourdons et Compagnie
- Location Independent workshop, Belgium
- Threads Tones chosen for Edo Era
- Hold Designed to withstand repeated washing
