工房

The Workshop

Screen printing on the back. Embroidery on the chest. Everything is printed and embroidered in two independent Belgian workshops. No factory. No subcontracting. Artisans we know, visit, and credit.

01

Local

Two Belgian workshops for decoration: screen printing and embroidery. No piece crosses a border to be printed or embroidered. The production chain holds within a few kilometres.

02

Independent

No big factory. Artisans who know every piece they print or embroider, and who sign their work.

03

Robust

Printing techniques that hold up over time, embroidery sewn directly into the fabric. No heat transfer: embroidery is stitched straight into the cloth.

Step 1

Embroidery

Bourdons et Compagnie · Belgium

This is where every blank t-shirt lands first. A multi-needle embroidery machine lays the Hexos wordmark thread by thread, centered on the chest. Depending on the Painting, it's accompanied by a katakana, a flower, or a motif specific to the World.

The result isn't a stitched-on patch. It's thread that goes into the fabric, lives with it, and patinas through washes. It's the signature that opens each piece.

  • Method Multi-needle machine
  • Thread Satin polyester, World-specific palette
  • Hold Designed to withstand repeated washing

Step 2

Printing

Screen printing workshop · Belgium

Once the embroidery is set, the t-shirt heads to the printer. They print the large back visual · the Mount Fuji, the Samurai, the World's Hexagon.

The printing technique is chosen for each Painting according to its run and use. Plastisol screen printing for collection pieces: deep flats, maximum hold over time, premium feel. DTF on more active pieces: on-demand printing, supple, breathing with the body. Exact details are specified on each product page.

  • Approach Chosen per Painting
  • Collection pieces Manual plastisol screen printing
  • Active pieces DTF on demand

The fabric

Dense organic cotton

Before all that, there's a blank t-shirt. We chose it thick (200+ gsm depending on the piece), structured, in organic cotton. Sourced from a European textile partner certified GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard). A weight that holds its shape over time. The exact weight of each Painting is specified on its product page.

It's on this fabric that we build each Painting. Everything else — embroidery, printing, numbering — depends on this base.

Traceability details (supplier, GOTS license) in Terms §2.
